Caption - Turkish Railways (TCDD) 'Middle East' 46201 class 2-8-2 46243 after arrival at Tatvan in May 1983. Tatvan is on the western shore Lake Van in eastern Turkey. At the eastern end of the lake is an isolated section of Turkish Railways that leads to Iran. The 'Middle East' class were built for the USATC as their S200 class. 200 were produced in 1942 with 53 eventually arriving in Turkey.
